Lina Wertmuller
Her real name is Arcangela Felice Assunta Wertmuller Von Elgg Spanol Von Braucich.
In 1951 she attended at direction courses at Pietro Sharoff’s academy and at the same time she founded "Avant-guarde Theatre".
She collaborated with Giorgio De Lullo in the"Compagnia dei Giovani", then she has been the aid-director of Guido Salvini and assistent-director for Compagnia Pagnani-Ninchi-Tieri.
She collaborated with Garinei e Giovannini for the realization of 13 musical plots and one edition of "Canzonissima".
During her cinematographic experience she collaborated with Federico Fellini in “Otto e mezzo” as aid-director.
She also wrote a lot of books, among which: “Essere o avere ma per essere devo avere la testa di Alvise su un piatto d' argento” e “Avrei voluto uno zio esibizionista”.
Lina Wertmuller follows the direction, the subject, the screenplay and often the music of her films. Some of her most famous film are: I Basilischi (1963); Mimì Metallurgico (1972); Film d’amore e d’anarchia (1973); Pasqualino sette bellezze (1978); Fatti di sangue fra due uomini per causa di una vedova, si sospettano fatti politici (1978); Francesca e Annunziata (2001).
